    The West Wind Farm Maintenance Project in Wellington, first began in 2014 when SRG Global was selected by Siemens Wind Power to assist with paint repairs prior to the end of warranty handover.     Poatina Penstock Refurbishment Project

    Commissioned in 1965, the Poatina Penstock carries water to the Poatina Powerstation, which is Hydro Tasmania’s second biggest powerstation. SRG Global was engaged to carrying out the removal of the internal coating of the penstock and application of a new coating. Read more...

    Makatote Rail Viaduct Life Extension Project

    The Makatote railway viaduct is located between Ohakune and National Park in the Central North Island and is a critical link in the North Island Main Trunk Line in New Zealand. SRG Global was engaged to complete the first full refurbishment of the steel structure in 60 years. Read more...

    Taupo Events Centre Repaint Project

    SRG Global was awarded the contract to prepare and paint the external structural steel work of the Taupo Events Centre for the Taupo District Council. The scope of the work included a water wash and abrasive blast to prepare the steel, followed by the application of a standard three coat paint system consisting of a zinc primer coat, an epoxy build coat, and a polyurethane top coat.     The Auckland Harbour Bridge (AHB) Cable Supports and Strengthening Project was part of Transpower’s North Auckland and Auckland Grid Upgrade Project.     The Umuroa is a floating platform storage and offload (FPSO) facility located in the Tui Oilfield off the Taranaki coast.     Refining New Zealand Maintenance Contract

    SRG Global has had a presence at the Marsden Point site since 2007, providing a range of protective coatings and refractory maintenance services to the client. In early 2014, Refining New Zealand entered into a 5 year maintenance contract with SRG Global to provide an expanded service offering for the maintenance of its assets. Read more...

    Auckland Harbour Bridge Box Girder Strengthening Project

    In order to meet future traffic demands on the Auckland Harbour Bridge it was determined that the load carrying capacity of the box girder extension bridges had to be increased in the form of the Box Girder Strengthening Project. The scope and scale of the strengthening works was unprecedented for this type of bridge. Approximately 600,000 man hours were expended over the duration of the project and nine hundred tonnes of new steel was distributed along the full length of the bridge. Read more...

    Auckland Harbour Bridge Maintenance Contract

    The contract for the management and maintenance of the Auckland Harbour Bridge (AHB) was originally awarded to Total Bridge Services (a joint venture between SRG Global, Opus and Fulton Hogan) in 1999. In 2013, the original AHB performance specified maintenance contract was replaced by a new three year sub-alliance contract, which sits within the greater Auckland Motorway Alliance. The AHB sub-alliance is still responsible for all maintenance activities on the structure as well as the development and implementation of an asset management plan and a new containment system.     Refining New Zealand Industrial Cleaning

    In 2014 SRG Global was awarded a 5 year maintenance contract with Refining NZ (RNZ) to provide a range of services including coatings, refractory, labouring and industrial cleaning. A significant part of our maintenance contract was to provide industrial cleaning services to RNZ’s storage tanks and process equipment. This typically involved cleaning two or more 30m diameter plus tanks annually, containing a range of products from heavy crudes to light refined products. Read more...

    Argent Hall Apartments Remediation Project

    In July 2013 SRG Global was awarded the contract to work in conjunction with Peddle Thorpe Architects to remediate the Argent Hall apartments located in Auckland City. This project was a high-rise leaky apartment building made up of ten levels and 107 apartment units in total. Read more...

    Uptown Apartments Remediation Project

    The Uptown Apartments Complex Remediation Project, located in Eden Terrace in Auckland, commenced in January 2015. The project involved the recladding of the four storey apartment complex consisting of 54 units, including five fully operational ground floor retail units. Read more...

    Fields Parade Remediation Project

    The Fields Parade project commenced in July 2014 and involved the recladding of ten, two storey townhouses. Scaffold was constructed and the entire complex was encapsulated with weather protecting shrinkwrap inclusive of roof encapsulation. Read more...

    The Mountain Road Apartment project involved the remediation/recladding of a 99 unit apartment complex including 4 x 4 storey buildings and also a single storey gymnasium. Read more...

    Normanby Mews Apartments Remediation Project

    The Normanby Mews project involved recladding and reroofing of a 48 unit apartment complex comprising of four x four story buildings. The project was undertaken in four separable portions allowing for a ‘staggered programme’ and re-occupation by residents as the contract progressed and each block was completed. Read more...

    Endeans Apartment Building Remediation Project

    In early 2014 SRG Global was nominated as the preferred head contractor to refurbish the Endeans Apartment Building located in the heart of Auckland’s central business district. This heritage building was completed in 1915 and is said to be the first concrete encased steel frame building in New Zealand. Read more...

    Columbia Apartments Remediation Project

    The Columbia Apartments are a high end apartment complex consisting of four by four storey buildings and 87 individual apartments in all. The entire complex had to be scaffolded and weather protective shrink-wrap encapsulation erected, including the roof. The existing monolithic cladding and the roof were deconstructed and rotten timber replaced. Read more...

    Glenbrook Steel Mill Rotary Kiln Relining Contract

    Bluescope Steel undertakes programmed maintenance shutdowns on each of its four Rotary Kilns. On a ‘staged basis’ SRG Global typically perform 2 programmed shutdowns per year whereby each kiln is inspected and areas of degraded refractory brick lining are identified for breakout and replacement.     Methanol Reformer #2 Turnaround Project

    Methanex contracted SRG Global to remove existing brick and ceramic fibre modules refractory from the “coffin walls” and auxiliary burner zone inside the Meth 2 Reformer. The shutdown involved the management of 50 staff and some 30,000 labour hours. Work was performed over a 6 week period involving closely supervised, night and day shift rotation on a 12 day fortnight basis. Read more...

    Methanex Waitara Valley Reformer Reline

    SRG Global’s Refractory Services division has been engaged by Methanex NZ since 1987 to perform refractory construction, commissioning, and shutdown maintenance over the life of its production facilities. In October 2018, the Refractory Services division was engaged by Methanex NZ to undertake a partial reline of their Methanol reformer at one of the two Methanol production plants in Taranaki, NZ.     Glenbrook Steel Mill Refractory Maintenance Contract

    SRG Global has been engaged by Bluescope Steel to undertake services within this current contract since 1992, with the formal commencement under this specific contract being 2009. The scope of work allows for SRG Global to apply specialist refractory expertise to provide general maintenance services to the Steel Plant Division of the mill. Read more...

    Maryvale Mill Rotary Lime Kiln

    After a successful tender process, SRG Global was awarded the contract to undertake the installation of 12 metres of replacement kiln brick lining, complete with an insulation board backing layer. The shutdown was completed around the clock over a 6 day period plus an additional two day variation to the original scope. Read more...

    Wellington Railway Station Platforms 1 & 2 Canopy Refurbishment

    SRG Global was engaged to complete the refurbishment of the platform canopies on platforms 1 & 2 at the Wellington Railway Station. All this work had to be completed whilst maintaining the operational integrity of the platform to ensure that normal rail services could continue throughout the duration of the works. Read more...

    OI Glass Remelt Tank Demolition

    As the preferred contractor, SRG Global were engaged to undertake demolition and installation of the AK3 glass remelt tank at the OI Glass bottling facility in Auckland, New Zealand. The contract duration was approximately three months undertaken by two x 10 hour shift crews peaking at 30 people per shift. Read more...
